  • 50% great, 50% disappointing

Half the time this app works well and is super informative and efficient for parental control The other half of the time it doesn't work at all 1) somehow permissions consistently deauthorize and Qustodio doesn't inform the parent app that this happens so you happily think you're in control while your child happily does whatever they want So when permissions are properly active it's great! 2) if they start a.call before bedtime enables they can continue said call past bedtime, even if the device is supposedly restricted (Bark Phone used to be like that but they finally fixed it) 3) you can't block texts except in bedtime mode and then there is no text at all (even to parents)... Even on the study only modes they can still text friends Oh and now I found they can text in bedtime mode if someone texts them they just can’t start a text but can reply 4) laptop use is spotty...also continually deauthorizes or I have to re download the Qustodio app regularly 5) text monitoring is sporadic, not all texts 6) not a clear way to add trusted contacts (at bedtime trusted contacts should be allowed) 7) here’s the kicker: even if you block a contact they can still call and text that person… Qustodio support even with premium is mostly just sympathetic with a standard " sorry we don't have that feature we'll recommend it to developers " I like Qustodio because it's more comprehensive than Bark but Bark PHONE is more reliable (in that it disables the phone when permissions deauthorize) this hit annoying after awhile so I haven't decided whether it's worse for nothing to work or everything to work (when you think it's in study or bedtime mode) Literally I think Qustodio is like “hey parents click buttons to think you’re in control but actually it’s all a fancy app based illusion” -your kid is still doing whatever they want with Qustodio on the phone
  • Works randomly

I installed it a couple months ago to control you tube access for my son and social media for my daughter. I paid for the premium package and it works randomly. My son still has access to you tube even though I restricted it and social media are accessible through their websites. Not sure what are other alternatives out there but this is definitely not working properly

App always says my son is active when he isn’t . I got mad, grounded him for not following the rules and took the phone. Even with it off and in my purse all day the app continues to say my son is actively on the phone and it has reached his time limit. He was grounded repeatedly for nothing. Can’t get in touch with the company to fix.

Hi, I’m a teen who’s parents have decided to use this app to monitor my phone. I’ll keep it quite simple, I don’t like it. My parents and I used to have a very healthy relationship until they got this app. Now we’re constantly bickering about how helpful this app is. Don’t get me wrong, I love my parents to death. They sacrifice so much for me. But it feels like I just don’t have any freedom at this point. It feels like I’m constantly being watched and monitored. The amount of times I’ve had to lie to my friends about this, feeling like an outcast because everyone I know isn’t under this constant pressure because of their parents decision. I see the point in Qustodio, but it is ruining my mental state, my relationship with my parents, and my overall self esteem. So in conclusion, I do not recommend this app unless you want to hurt your child.
  • Not for iOS!!!

The gps and app control is fine. More or less. But the selling point of this app over others is that you can monitor calls and messages, but it doesn’t work, and hasn’t since almost the beginning. I repeatedly asked the developers to assist and the answer was always to reinstall the app. It would work once and then immediately stop. Message monitoring for teens is not a once in a while thing, it needs to work all the time. Going on second year of subscription and would not recommend for iOS users.

I was charged $108.00 even though it was a 3 day trial. I reached out immediately and it’s been 3 days and still not heard from them about the refund. I decided I didn’t want to use this app for various reasons.
  • Glitchy and ineffective for iOS

I installed Qustodio on two kids’ iPads. The protection was glitchy and ineffective. The app did not recognize all apps on my kids’ iPads, despite troubleshooting (the apps it did recognized were inconsistent across the two devices). It also did not restrict all apps per my settings: it allowed my children to access some apps blocked on weekdays, and go over time limits on other apps. Finally, it did not reliably report on app usage. I spent a week troubleshooting and corresponding with customer service, but was not able to resolve the issues. One additional note: while we used Qustodio, YouTube Kids consistently did not load on one of the kid’s iPads (we had 30 minute limit for the app, so it should have started up); no issues since uninstalling.

Like the app but have not yet figured out how to allow a group of apps to used anytime of the day for up to say 2 hours.
  • So frustrating

This app used to be good. With each “update” it has become less and less user friendly. Now there are even more things that I have to navigate in order to get to what I need. It’s also a lot more “busy” for no reason. I hope I can find another filter to switch to
  • Very little success with this app

I was very excited to use this app, hopefully reducing arguments with our son when the app shut down his games at the end of his time we set, but he has found several ways around the app as to installing and continuing to use Roblox and other app. The help desk has done a good job working with us but they are asking us to send screen shots and detailed updates without end, which in the end, is creating more stress on us (the parents) than just not using the app. My ultimate ask is for a refund - but guessing they will want more screenshots and additional work to earn this. I would avoid this app and look for others.
