    On Upward, your profile is hidden even from those you have messaged when you pause your searches for a little privacy. This means that your only choices are to either have no privacy whatsoever and to let your profile be on full display 24/7, or you waste the substantial amount of money you spent on purchasing messages and super likes as none of them can see you. Furthermore, messaging is super glitchy and support is slow and almost non-existent, even when you've just purchased a subscription and are locked out of your account due to their sign-in bugs. They can take your money but can't even locate your account when you need them to...

    Incredibly unhelpful customer service. I was logged out of my account and could not log back in. I reached out to customer service, provided true and accurate verification info, but they told me they could not verify me, so they banned my account. I was not told why I was logged out or any other way I could regain access. I have now lost contact with the people I was talking with. They also did not confirm if they deleted my account and I am concerned my information is still being saved, but inaccessible to me.

    App has potential and is good on the outside but once I start getting likes I can’t even view anyone’s profile without having to pay for it. And it way too expensive. I’d buy it if it was $50 every six months. Change the price and I’ll change my review.

    This is basically Christian tinder except without as many bots. When you select a distance to matches, the app completely disregards it. It’s constantly pressuring you to purchase “Superlikes” or upgrade to another level. It even said I was “recommended to make a tinder” and pushed me into a screen I couldn’t get out of, where it tried to force me to create a tinder profile. I paid for “premium” and it’s not worth the money. At this moment I would recommend this app to anyone.

    The only men I’ve matched with, upon a Google search of their seemingly regular pictures, ALL have resulted in social media influencers aka all catfished. I am really disappointed that these Christian dating apps like this one and others have fallen prey to such scammers. They need to have a better screening process to vet genuine users

    Absolute scam of an app. I matched with someone, ended up being a fake user using someone else’s photos. So I block them, then the next day get a random call from some weirdo pretending to be with a law firm saying that said person and her parents are suing me. Not worth the time. 90% users are fake.

    This is the worst dating app. The filters don’t work so you’re forced to go through so many profiles that don’t even fit your preferences. Constant glitches. Waste of money to pay for upgraded service. It’s awful.

    A short stroll through the men’s only group in this app will show you very quickly the kind of men who like to interact on here. They’re angry, treat you poorly, expect to be treated like a king when their attitude is awful, and actively discuss how much they hate women openly. They even discuss how women don’t truly love God because they’re incapable. I saw a thread about getting mail order brides from other countries. I have had less toxic experiences on TINDER of all places. Ladies, just try to meet someone the old fashioned way or try Bumble. The men here are not Biblical or loving, don’t waste your time.

    The UI is user friendly, overall nice design, but they send fake notifications to get you to come back and stay on the app. If you have already received likes when you open the app, a message appears saying “You received new likes while you were away” even if you haven’t. They also send you notifications saying “_____ liked you!” But the notifications are from likes you received long ago and they reuse the same people to send notifications making it look like you got new people. It is very misleading and deceitful. It is a lie which is a sin.
