  • Expensive to connect

    Not loving the app. You have to pay $17/week-$77/year just to see anyone who sends a like. I know other apps where you can’t see everyone but can see the most recent like and work through them that way.

    Sure there are plenty of members however the app ignores your preferences and matches you with people 300 miles away. I mean why? No one can develop a relationship that far away. When the subscription runs out I will not renew.

    I gave this app a try a while back and there were some profiles that I thought weren’t meant for a Christian/faith based dating app. The pics attached to said were very inappropriate for this particular app and the people on the other end were also offering extra marital affairs. I reported many of them and left a review letting the Upward team know about them. After a while I came back and found no more of said profiles, which leads me to believe those profiles have been taken down, which I greatly appreciate. At the time I also noticed the verification feature, which probably should have been a part of building ones profile from day 1, but better late than never. And something that this app might benefit from, or at least user may enjoy, is that maybe add a video message or call feature for when Upward users match, regardless of whether or not they have a subscription. But that’s just me.

    Not all Christian’s. There is no background checks. A lot of shady things happen. The creators don’t even care they only want the money. They don’t care to protect you or if you find a match. Their point is for you to take as long as possible to find a match so they can stay profitable. Save your self your funds, from heart aches, from liars, and from sin. Delete your accounts if you have one and delete this app. They have even announced in their app not to give your info to be careful. Obviously, because some things happened to some ppl. The Lord does not need help in finding your life partner. Remember the God you serve. Almighty all powerful.

    Boilerplate dating app; the distance preference setting is wonky, as it consistently shows women 200+ miles away. The supposedly real people who have liked me aren’t in sight because they probably don’t live in another state.

    So one year ago I tried this app and I got a couple like and I would see their profile multiple times but I deleted it bc I was fasting from social media including dating apps and a year later (now) I get likes and I have yet to encounter their account just once like seriously do yall want us to waste money and buy the elite package to see them it’s honestly annoying why not go back how it used to be to when if someone liked my account I’d see their account multiple times now I don’t see it at all

    The format of the profiles is straightforward enough. The amount of obviously fake profiles is disheartening as well as how far away the few “real matches” are. Even when you adjust the settings, the distance is crazy 125 miles to 1250 miles away. I’m not sure why but it will also have the same profile 2 to 6 times in the feature that shows who is interested in you. I’m grateful I only paid for a month. The concept is good it’s not worth the time or money.

    Great app comparative to other dating ones and I enjoy how you can seek people based specifically on their religious beliefs. The only issue I have is I match with girls who are often 100+ miles away even if my settings is as small of a distance as possible.
