  • Doesn’t work for Minecraft on PlayStation4

I tried over and over many different ways to allow my child to play in multiplayer on Minecraft for the PS4. There is NO place on the almost bare bones app that allows me to turn on and off multiplayer for my child’s Microsoft account that my child has to have to be able to play Minecraft now. Last week we had no problems playing multiplayer together on Minecraft. Now I can only invite my child into my game. I can no longer go into my child’s game with all of the worlds my child created. Nor can any of his friends. Nice going Microsoft.
  • Barely works

The app barely ever works. There are times when I try to lock my child's devices and it doesn't after many, many attempts. Same for unlocking a device. The scheduling works sometimes. It's very frustrating to use. I'm not sure what I'm doing incorrectly but it has not worked well for me at all.

I can’t sign into my Microsoft account because I can’t remember my password and none of the verification codes will work.
  • Good. But could be so much better…

It needs some simple tweaks to help parents monitor and moderate their children. E.g. Why is the lock screen button buried in menus? Do some research on what users want and this app would be excellent.

Nice app to have some control over the kids’ screen time. Hope that we can use it on IPads.
  • Screen time limits just stop working occasionally

Multiple times per week, the screen time limits stop working. The app will show my son is out of screen time, but he can (and will) just keep playing games on his PC or watching videos on his laptop forever. Then I need to get into a screen time battle with him. This is extremely frustrating because the whole reason I'm using Microsoft Family is so that I don't need to get into battles all the time. He is not an admin on any of the devices. I realize that if I make him stop and then I reboot the device, the screen time limits MAY start working again, but that's another battle. He's happy if everything just lets him use the screens forever.
  • Absolute garbage

You’d think they don’t want my money. This has been a problem for as long as I’ve had the app. Not all the features are here and I have to go on the website but they try to force you to the app. My daughter requests Minecraft purchases but I have never been able to complete the approval through the app because it freezes on the sign in. I spend 30-60 mins every time jumping through hoops to approve a Minecraft purchase through the browser webpage which is also garbage.
  • Great for helping friend or family rehab

Using this to control access for a friend recovering from addiction. Works great, easy for him to request sites and easy for me to approve.
  • Unnecessary, garbage app

This is an absolute joke from Microsoft, trying to force consumers to use an app, when a 1MB webpage would have better performance, and be easier for everyone to use. I’m beyond excited that Microsoft is doing massive layoffs; anyone involved in this project deserves to not have a job. Shame on Microsoft.
  • Approval Crash

Every time my child wants to download an app it sends approval for me to ok. While I love that option, every time I attempt to approve it the app freezes and I can’t approve anything. Would love a fix for that!
