  • Good time sink but highly unbalanced drop rates that encourage buying more energy.

Keeping this review short. I’ve been playing this game for like 2 years now because it’s a fine pastime when I’ve got nothing important to do. I’ve always enjoyed ‘restoration’ type games and this one has got an interesting map and story. My main issue is how much the game stalls out at higher levels. Currently, I’m trying to restore the Kid’s Room, and it requires multiple, max-level paint cans. The problem with this is how abysmal the paint can drop rate is. Using 500 energy on a level 10 toolbox, I still only managed to get up to a level 3 paint can. Other boxes have similar drop ratings for ‘secondary’ items but not nearly as bad. I don’t know if this is a bug or, what I suspect, purposeful design to get people to buy more energy to keep sinking it in this particular box. The trade system is next to useless for this, too, because it will request items over twice the level for the item I need. Frustrating.

Feb 25 — today’s update is terrible. Don’t like having to travel to get inside the mansion every time! And when I do, it crashes! Can’t do anything! Later same day — have not been able to play game all day. Every time I try to do something it crashes! Am beginning to hate this fun game. February 26 — game will NOT allow me to do a TASK. Bummer ! Fix it! Feb 26 1:21 pm — why do I have to go outside the mansion to complete a task. I now have two tasks and cannot do them because I get kicked out of the game. If this isn’t fixed soon, I will have to delete this game that I love to play. Feb 28 — some update! I still am unable to take care of doing my Tasks. Still got kicked out of the game. March 1 — why do I have to go back into the mansion each time I want to take care of a completed task? Every time I try, I get kicked out of the game. Dry frustrating. This has been going on for several days which means I can’t play this game that WAS a favorite and now has me thinking I need to delete it. May 8, 2025 — have trouble with game kicking me out way too often. September 7, 2025 — I have enjoyed playing this game until now! I have four different tasks to do and there is an item from every one of them that comes from the closet that takes FOUR HOURS sometimes to regenerate! Not much fun having to wait that long!!! September 10, 2025 —— Aaaggg! I HAVE BEEN WORKING FOR WEEKS TO GET “Car Wax” AND I FINALLY HAD THE MOP, SQUEEGEE AND PUSHBROOM TO COMBINE TO GET IT AND THE GAME TURNED IT INTO A “Super Duster” instead of “Car Wax” that I needed to complete a task. It has made me REALLY ANGRY! Give me back my Car Wax!!! NOW!!! November 24 - am now having to get lots and lots of apples for the horse. Rather disappointing that it takes 3 hours to get one apple, especially when I need 8 apples And that is the only thing I need. I enjoy playing the game more than one second every 3 hours! Although that is better than the 8 hours it takes to get things from the closet! January 17— I love playing this game but I now have 2 items to get and they both take 3 HOURS or more that I have to wait to try again. Really hate such long waits. I want to play the game not wait and wait and wait and wait!
  • Honest review. HONEST.

This game WAS good. Straightforward. Simple idea. A mansion and surrounding areas to be rebuilt or renovated. Merge items to make different new items. It was it. Of course the whole multiplying factor was totally biased towards the game, the rewards were never multiplied, like most games the player was supposed to wait or pay a few dollars to speed things up. Fine. In essence was fun to play. Then it became “popular” and - of course, extremely profitable - and things started to continuously change for the worst. Tasks suddenly became extremely difficult to be finished, not exactly because of the “intricate nature” of the game on itself, it is a MERGE game, people and there is nothing else - but because the developers wanted more and more profit and started to try to create a “mistery” ( like it was some elaborated big production etc ) but it is an app game, MERGE stuff, limited, something supposed to be enjoyable, so it is not a book or a fim or a console game, it makes no sense and, quite honestly, the idea is pathetic. So the “rewards” shrunk to ridiculous levels, the “prices” inside the game went way, way, wayyyyy up, like hundreds per cent increase for one to buy and ridiculous low if it is the player “selling” something. Then the game entered the “monthly pass” club and - low and behold - the monthly pass price rapidly escalated and what was a MONTH turned to a 20 days pass. The old characters got makeovers ( including green eyes! Really important, right?) and a bunch of new ones appeared, the plot ( if it can be called a plot) grew “tentacles” and all the sudden it is “explained” on YouTube videos, with weddings and and twisted relationships between characters from a MERGE GAME, a bunch of silly make believe told by two women who pretend that there is in fact a real mystery, and that character are real and it is an adaptation of a class c mystery novel and not a freaking MERGE GAME. Honestly, it is beyond ridiculous, every pass offers as rewards a bunch of “decorations” that adds no value to the game itself and crazy “pets” that again, makes no sense, because this is not a console game, but a MERGE GAME, and then the desperation keeps on giving and they came up with a “cards” non sensical as well, that adds no value or interest to the MERGE game, and of course, the “cards” slowly become the “rewards”, again, NO VALUE to the MERGE game, but you just have to endure it over and over for sixty days, just to start again the same freaking cards that IF MUCH will yield one or two energy charges. Oh, wait! Lets be fair. every single day the game will offer the player a coffer containing coins and a few gems and one need to keep it to merge for several days to its max level to finally extract it. BUT, in order to extract it you need to spend one full energy charges!!) But the player keeps going. But it’s impossible not notice how rewards that had value shrinking daily and to slow down and profit more, new areas start to introduce “new producers” that generate other producers and it takes an ABSURD amount of merges and energy to create one freaking single item that, almost always, gives the players little to no rewards and what was already a crowded board it is a nightmare with several producers and “portals” to silly repetitive events (“bake off” “fishing” “photographing birds” ) that, remember, it is a nerge game, are nothing but ways of making the player to exhaust the “energy” level and need to spend more the game’s “currency”: gems. So there is no help? Oh, no, there is. Every day the game will offer the player the possibility of exchanging something he/she has for something he/she needs to complete a task. The catch? The exchanges are most of the time from some high value ( meaning, it took thousands of merges to complete) for some lame level 2 or three item. Then the players refuse it and goes to the next offer. Also not good. Next? Well, now one needs to pay 5 gems to see another possible exchange. GUESS WHAT? The game will offer the same offer already rejected. And then if one still wants to try another time, now he/she will have to pay 10 gems. And then 20. And then 40 and so forth. Get it? It always a “greek gift” Everything is LAME. But because what it is bad can always get worse, to complete some tasks and areas the players are now required in some cases to give up their original producers, items that the it can take a YEAR to “construct” and get to the final level. That and also items of previous completed levels whose producers no longer exist and need to be build up again. From scratch. Is that all? Nope. Some of the producers that the player invested to get to the last level and that they thought it was finished, will suddenly be added new levels and the player will have to - again - slowly and painfully try to complete it once more from scratch, but most of the time he can’t do it because he depends on obtaining parts from “chests” that are extremely expensive and limited and that once open will give the player just a three or four pieces for different items and he/she needs to hold on to it on a board that offers extremely limited spaces until he/she can get another chest ( which can take months) and MAYBE, if he/she is “lucky” he/she can get some piece that can be merged with what he/she is holding on to. It is honestly so outrageous that I would never recommend to anyone. Bottom line? Unless you are willing to spend hundreds of dollars per month, this game will only frustrate you. It became boring, really repetitive, nonsensical and unappealing. Look for something else.
  • This game is great but don’t expect to get anywhere

This game is fun. Upfront game makers have to make money as they should. That being said unless you want to spend an obscene amount of money per day, you are not going to play long nor advance. Better odds in a casino winning real $$$ and not advancing a story line that goes nowhere

The game has become boring, too many updates, ads, and not enough progress in the game
  • Great! But too many pop ups and events.

I’ve been playing this game for more than 5 years and I really enjoy it. It’s fun to play and the energy limit makes it so I won’t play for hours on end, lol. I will say though, there are always at least 3+ “special events” going on that I don’t care about in the slightest. I am irritated every time I have to click through 10 pop ups just to play my game. I don’t care about what Hank or Roddy have to say. I don’t care about the bird photography sub-game, or the clue rush, the hopewell bay challengers, or the Lucky catch event. I just want to restore the house! It’s a great game but too gummed up with extra filler.
  • Worst update

I used to love this game but after the update, it’s horrible. The mini games were taken off and the items dropped have dropped levels so it’s a waste of my game energy. PUT IT BACK
  • Great game

I have been playing this game for years now and I have never gotten bored with it. It has great events, but I never feel pressured to be on 24/7 like some other games in order to advance. Games should be fun, not stressful, and this one is very fun and relaxing.
  • I never do this.

I’ve played many many phone games. Nothing compares to this ad free experience. I love it. Yea it’s a merge game. But I always come back to it. It’s just that good. You can tell that the people working on this game actually freakin care. 5 stars mam. I’d give it 10! I hope it always stays ad free. But that being said I love the games ads they put out. So funny I love the story line drama. It’s silly and I’m still loving it.

I joined for a mystery game exploring a mansion as shown in the ads. I spent many weeks on the grounds and in the garage and then was sent to an island. At that point I deleted the game.
