Description

Bark provides families with all the tools they need to raise kids in the digital age. Our comprehensive service lets you monitor content, manage screen time, and filter websites so you can get peace of mind while your child is online. CONTENT MONITORING Bark monitors your child’s texts, email, YouTube, and 30+ apps and social media platforms for issues like cyberbullying, adult content, sexual predators, profanity, suicidal ideation, threats of violence, and more. Parents receive alerts only when something potentially problematic occurs online. You won’t have full access to everything on your child’s phone — just the things you might need to know about. SCREEN TIME MANAGEMENT Families can set healthy time limits and create schedules for when their children’s devices can connect to the internet (through both cell service and Wi-Fi). WEB FILTERING Our web filter lets you select which websites your child can access on their devices. You can allow or block specific sites — or even whole categories like streaming services, online gaming, sexual content, and more. BARK TESTIMONIALS • "My wife and I LOVE Bark. We've had some tough but productive conversations with our 13-year-old son. It's proving to be extremely valuable." — Josh L. • “It’s just another set of protections we as parents give our kids for the digital environment (or as my 10-year-old calls it, a “cell phone seat belt”). My oldest is a 9th grader, and while I trust her, I’ve come to realize through the alerts that some of her friends aren’t truly her friends. It’s led to some amazing conversations about choosing friends wisely and recognizing toxic people. While she wasn’t for Bark at first, she’s since said she’s grateful that I saw those messages because it reaffirmed what she was feeling but didn’t know how to verbalize without sounding sensitive.” — Bark Parent • "Bark notified me that my young daughter had unknowingly revealed her phone number to strangers on Twitter. The fact that Bark notified me was impressive and led to an informative discussion with her the same day." — Jon B. • “Since Bark alerted us to the suicidal language used in the Google doc that was being used in a chat document with a friend, we have seen both a pediatrician and a licensed counselor. We are hopeful for a positive outcome. Thanks to Bark for letting us peek into our child’s mind!” — Bark Parent • “This app is a lifesaver! It has allowed us to catch so many “red flags” in the content my kids have accessed on their devices and in their interactions with friends and other people online that I wouldn’t have ever known about otherwise. The big difference between Bark and other “Parental Control” software is that Bark allows your kids to have so much more privacy. It doesn’t show you everything they do, but sends an instant alert regarding any activity that might be concerning. Highly recommended!” — Bark Parent With Bark, you can help keep your kids safe both online and in real life. Try it out for seven days absolutely free! • Need Snapchat as an app to monitor

Kids only use Snapchat. Get monitor usage or else this app isn’t really useful.
  • No longer works

With the introduction of iOS 17 this app no longer functions and costs $100 per year. I have only seen that their troubleshooting tutorials blame Apple for issues with devices. ☹️ I would recommend to find a different app to help your kids with their devices.
  • Terrible so far

Gosh these phones and trying to deal with customers service is terrible. No human to take a call then having to go back and forth with a unhelpful useless bot. The phones are slow and laggy I’m mad I’ve wasted money on this.
  • 👎 Nothing worked until I cancelled 😂

Zero stars. Update: Nothing on phone worked, spent hours troubleshooting, changed every setting possible, sent multiple help chat requests (and yes, even rebooted the phone a few times 🙄, checked the app version, all the basics, yes), then did a hard factory reset and reinstall. Nothing. Then I cancelled. Only after that- my cancellation- did the phone finally again do any of the things that one would expect a phone to do. Like phoning. Messaging. Web. Camera. Etc. If Bark ever did anything on the back end, I’ll never know, but if they did, the only effect of that action was to confirm that I made the right choice in cancelling. Maybe your experience will differ, by they provided me a miserable failure of a service and based on what I saw have no business existing as an app or company. Stay away from Bark.
  • Bark Home does not work

I purchased premium and bark home. Bark home will not finish “scanning” an iPhone. It did not even find an ipad when connected. Reaching out to support, they are quick to respond, but with no solution. At the moment Bark is doing half of what it claims it can do, I receive alerts for app activity that could be of concern.
  • Nice premise but blatant gaps in coverage on iOS

I like the features but they seriously need to revamp the iOS version. It’s overly complex to use with iOS due to needing a computer to analyze iCloud backups from your kids phone. This means you don’t get realtime information, you get the notification sometimes hours later if your kid is not at home. You also have to leave your computer in AWAKE mode which wastes a ton of power. I am aware that Apple security measures make an app like this more complicated to use. HOWEVER the security was easily bypassed by my 14 year old within 1 hour of setup, completely by accident (she actually told me she mistakenly turned it off). The kid can either a) turn off VPN which is what my daughter did, b) turn off iCloud backup, or c) not use the home wifi and delete violating content before connecting to home WiFi again. Kids are smart, the fact that this is a paid service with multiple insanely easy bypasses is mind blowing. They need to hire some teenagers to test their product!
  • So very slow!

Our teenaged son allows us to help control screen time through Qustodio. We don’t monitor texts etc. just usage during class schedule. Apple’s screen time isn’t smart enough for a kid with decent CS and programming capabilities to do it all on its own. Decided to do the free trial based on some dislikes with the other. Deleted within 15minutes. I have worked over a decade in large tech companies, and can not believe this app runs the way it does. Not for us. We don’t have hours to spend setting it up for what we are utilizing it for. Bark’s VPN is incredibly slow

I find this app extremely irritating. It constantly stops working and the scan process is tedious. I’ve been waiting for this to re-engage for 2 hours and still not fully in business.
