  • Could use help in the formatting department.

I’m OCD about the presentation and formatting of my recipes and that is falling apart in Crouton as it doesn’t seem to support tiered bulleted lists, etc. so I’m having to find creative workarounds.

Should not be behind a subscription paywall. That should be the bread and butter for imports…on a recipe app….
  • Defected from Paprika

I’m a day1 Paprika user, but the app failed to integrate a key feature: using a phone camera & AI to perfectly scan and import printed page recipes….and, the app interface is better. And don’t worry, the clever developers make it an easy one step process to import your Paprika library !
  • Nice looks, pity about high pressure sales tactic.

I’m sure it’s a nice app, and they do a great job with staying current with Apple’s design ethos, but I hate, hate, HATE being pressured into decision-making such as Crouton’s offering a discount if I purchase the full version within the first 24 hours of downloading. Good apps can stand on their own merits. Also, importing recipes turned out to be more of a pain than I expected due to Crouton reading my “2-1/4” that I do for readability as “a range from two to one-fourth” rather than “two and one fourth”. Paprika may be showing its age, but at least it understands what I mean when I scale recipes without having to manually convert to “2¼”.

Love the app! Use it all of the time, mainly to save and use recipes. It would be really amazing if it had a popup with a shortcut to the recipe I created after saving a recipe from a URL, similar to the shortcut that shows up when I have a link in my clipboard. I always have to search for the recipe I just saved, when I saved it specifically to look at in the app in that moment

I really like the app. While Crouton does support importing a Paprika backup, the ability to import the Paprika folder structure would make like much easier. Having to sort my 1400 recipes to match Parila is quite daunting.
