  • Monitized = Unuseable

It’s one thing to have an App That costs an amount or a subscription fee upfront. It’s nothing entirely when an app goes from being Free to use for years to charging a very expensive annual fee for membership.

I used to love this app until your most recent update makes it so I can’t simply copy and paste a link and have a recipe save.

Used the app for a few days and found it to be a little buggy, but useful for collecting all my recipes in one spot. However, after hitting a certain number of recipes I could no longer add anything else without paying. I cannot express my frustration strongly enough. I am sick of apps hiding any sort of payment or subscription until you've used it enough to have a decent collection of recipes built up. Will not be reccomeneding this app to anyone, and in fact will steer anyone away from it. Be better.
  • Can’t even create an account

It won’t let me use the Sign in with Apple feature, nor will it let me hit the button to create an account. Just embarrassing.
  • WAS A GREAT APP

I LOVED THIS APP, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS SPOTTY ON DUPLICATING RECIPES THAT I WAS TRYING TO IMPORT. I RECOMMENDED IT TO MANY FRIENDS. SUDDENLY, TODAY, NOVEMBER.29, AFTER UPDATING, I WAS UNABLE TO ENTER AN ORIGINAL RECIPE, AND WAS UNABLE TO IMPORT ANYTHING. WHAT’S UP, ARE THEY CHANGING THE RULES? ARE THEY ATTEMPTING TO MONETIZE THE APP?
  • Forcing me to pay

It was great until it is trying to force me to pay for a subscription in order to add another recipe. And Android users get it for free. You fail once again Apple.
  • Back to being a favorite app (WAS: Latest update is poor)

11/25…Just got better again. Now, it’s capable of pulling and beautifully parsing recipes from sites that, previously, were a no-go. Best recipe app anywhere. Many issues seem to have been addressed. Edits are easy and easy to save. The “just show me the recipe” button allows you to see the recipe just as it would appear in Recipe Box and cuts through the fluff and other bloat. Love that. Many thanks. Former critique w/1 star (no longer valid)… OLD.OLD.OLD…RecipeBox went from my favorite app to almost useless with this latest version. When will I learn not to update apps that work perfectly. The ‘my recipes’ page view has shrunk each photo down to a thumbnail by offering a ‘add to list’ option button to each photo on that page view. Poor choice. How about a button on the top margine that, globally, lets the user select several at once? Like every email app out there. Editing a recipe used to be a breeze, now, it’s harder than ever. And once you’ve made changes, the edit save button disappears. Even ‘cancel edit button’ is a fail. One has to close the app to cancel a recipe edit. The Discovery recipe search, once more powerful than any search engine results, has been modified poorly. The resulting search page recipe photos have been shrunk to thumbnails thanks to a ‘save recipe’ button being imbedded into each photo on the page. Who saves a recipe after just glancing at a photo? It used to be that you clicked on a recipe, look it over, and there at the top of the page was the save recipe button. That made too much sense. Are app developers getting paid by the change these days? I bragged about this app for years to any friends who had an interest in cooking. Now, regrettably, I may have to move on.
  • The hidden benefit of recipe box

Yes, this is a convenient place to keep your recipes, but one of the best things about it is that you can look recipes up online and it has a button that lets you skip directly to the instructions. No stories of growing up in the backwoods, no descriptions of the smells in grandma’s kitchen. Just 2000,000 recipes at the touch of a button.
  • Can’t get to the recipe

There are so many pop-up ads and offers to enroll that you can’t get to the recipe. Not the best app for recipes!
  • Best to worst

I’ve used this app for several years and it was great. Lately, it became an ordeal to try to import recipes with them often disappearing or worse after trying several times. So I decided to upgrade to see if that would fix the problem. Wrong! I was also intrigued with the idea of having an easier way to import recipes from Facebook, etc. So far, that has been a major fail. My first attempt with a Facebook recipe per the app instructions led to something imported but shown as being imported. After that, there was no response beyond the screw showing AI is working, add another recipe, etc. Opening and Closing the App changed nothing. Same with doing a hard reset of my iPhone. Additionally, I’d also like to see the alphabetical listing on the slide of the screen restored. Bottom line is this app has degenerated from a great tool to one of the worst. In its current state, I won’t be recommending the app like I used to. ***UPDATE*** Very disappointed. Support responded initially in about a day and addressed the save issues I was having but not the Facebook import issues so I contacted them again re that issue. They requested some FB recipes I tried importing which I provided. Two weeks later & no response. If this remains the case, I’ll probably move my recipes to Stashcook which does what this app claimed re FB etc plus it has some nice ease of use features when using a recipe. Hopefully, I’ll hear something from Support SOON.
