    I use Flightly to keep my business travel organized and sync’s with my calendar. I share it with friends and family so we all know our arrival and departure plans. Coordinating saves us countless trips to the airport for pickups or drop offs.

    Flightly is one of the only apps I subscribe to. The UI is modern and well designed, the data is always up to date (they even figured out a way to get updates via the “free text messaging” on most flights). I’ve even had random people on flights ask me what app I’m using. As an app developer myself, major props to whoever designed and built this. A+++

    While the app can be used as a guideline for when an airplane is leaving or arriving, it’s not 100% accurate. In one incident the app was showing the flight has landed while showing the plane over the ocean. The passenger from the flight reported that the flight has landed and headed to dock, while the app was completely off showing visual. I think a 4 star is generous in this case given people would be misled thinking the plane may have made an emergency landing instead safely reaching the destination.

    Flighty not only does an incredible job tracking all my flights, but it also keeps me updated on my friends’ flights; making airport drop off and pick up a breeze. The amount of detail you can get about your plane, route, and everything in between is honestly unmatched. I barely even open my airline apps anymore because Flighty has everything I need in one place, and it updates me faster than any other app or even the airport monitors. It’s become my go-to travel tool, and I recommend it to everyone who flies.

  • Very hit-or-miss outside of the US

    I still find it at least kind of useful, but beware that it can be very unreliable in Europe, and presumably other places that aren't the US. I regularly have to rely on airline apps and airport displays to tell me things as basic as what gate my plane is at, because Flighty just doesn't. I've even caught it giving me the wrong gate once or twice, which is obviously unacceptable.
