Waking Up has been a great tool for me in my meditation practice. The introductory course is a beautiful, no nonsense training that is powerful in coming into more awareness of everything. Thank you, Sam, and everyone involved for your work.

Really enjoying this app. I have tried to begin a meditation practice for years now and have struggled to do it with any consistency, but with this app, it makes it extremely approachable and the guided meditation has helped me build that consistency I had been lacking. I am still struggling with finding the meditation useful in the moment, but I do notice that throughout my days I am finding the quietness of consciousness periodically and it is helping me detach from the internal and external stress and find more points of quiet and calm being.

I wish the content were as good as the ads. Got duped into the free trial and cancelled 4 days too late. Sure hope this app gets better since I paid for it. So far the content does not include the lectures that are featured in the ads….. more focused on having a meditation alarm which is not a feature I am interested in.

I’ve never been able to connect with a meditation system or protocol until I found waking up. Sam’s approach is genius in how he has the course structured. You are very quickly brought up to a level where you notice real mental and cognitive benefits in your daily life. I’m so grateful I found this app.
  • Predatory billing for an overrated app

Years after cancelling+deleting the app, I'm still getting billed for an annual subscription and having to go through hoops with my bank to keep them from billing me more in the future

As I am writing this, I am receiving my Spravato treatment. I’ve completed the 28 days of curriculum for the Waking Up app almost in tandem with the completion of my induction phase of my Spravato treatment. The Waking Up app has facilitated the meta-cognitive thinking I needed to alleviate my neuropsychological deficits. I’ve allowed it to be my operating system to override my distorted schema of self and maladaptive behaviors. This app has and is currently saving my life. What it provides me as a neurodivergent is tremendous.

I'm a founder/CEO and used to be completely subject to the risky decisions, the stress and the ups and downs of my leadership role. I bit my nails uncontrollably. A month into using this app, I just realized - I'm not biting my nails anymore. I notice what I'm doing, what I'm thinking, and I get to decide what I want to do, think, and feel. It's a much more powerful and confident way to live.

    Learned meditation through the app
  • Not a good meditation app

Feels like a therapist with ADHD. Jumps from point to point for you to focus on not staying in one place very long losing concentration. It's coupled with agressicely long silent pauses that make you think the session is over and breaks the rhythm of the meditation. Don't waste your time on the trial.
  • Beware. Hard to track subscription

Underhanded in my opinion. Sub is through the website, not Apple subscriptions. Hard to track unless you remember that you signed up on the website. Until you get hit with a charge and you can’t figure it out.
