    Underhanded in my opinion. Sub is through the website, not Apple subscriptions. Hard to track unless you remember that you signed up on the website. Until you get hit with a charge and you can’t figure it out.

    Sam’s introductory course is invaluable for both beginners and more experienced meditators. I especially like the compiled works and recordings of philosophers like Alan Watts. The app is focused and uncluttered.
  • Helped me past a plateau

    I've been meditating pretty regularly for the past five years. I've been focused on a mindfulness practice for the past year but felt I had reached a plateau. Sam's guided meditations helped me break through the plateau. As an added bonus, I've been really enjoying all of the conversations that Sam has on the app with various meditation teachers scientists and philosophers. I've also been sampling some of the other forms of meditation available on the app including body scanning and loving kindness. It's just been a great experience and I'm sure it will keep me busy for years to come.

    The Waking Up App is a wonderful tool, a trusted companion that can remind you each day what your mind is. It IS what you are experiencing. In becoming comfortable in dropping back to become aware of the cloud of sensation, there is a clarity that begins to charge those moments of meditation and spills out into the rest of the day.

    I enjoyed the meditations while I used it, although they were biased towards secular spirituality and other ideas/philosophies (but nothing is truly unbiased). The creators are genuine and honest, which is all one can really ask for. I forgot to cancel my subscription before it auto-renewed and asked for a refund, which was processed soon after mentioning my mentioning it.

    I have always tried to be consistent but I was not able to do so and there are other meditations that I've done till now. But the one that has been most effective for me is waking up. And I love the conversations here too. Thank you for doing everything that you do waking up team and Sam Harris.
