This is my go to resource for all financial news. The writing is concise but fluid, and the insights are always relevant no matter what subject I am researching.

The FT is the premier financial and economic daily reporting service in the world. A “must have” newspaper for those in business, public policy, and academia.

After I started reading it since the beginning of the year can’t do without it.
  • Was a great paper for many years but now is biased towards the left.

Considered one of the world‘s great papers for years, sadly, this paper has fallen on hard times. Consistently anti-Trump and pro left-wing in their articles. They’re not at the level of the New York Times certainly but they’re sliding towards an advocacy newspaper approach..
  • FT better than other news sources.

FT has longer deeper time-horizon worldwide finance/economics than NYT/WSJ, like how Eric Topol replaces NYT on medical research, and LLMs and Wikipedia replace GoogleAdSearch and daily news sources on nearly everything else
  • Great articles……….if you could read them!

When select an article to read and click on it to read, up pops a notice telling me I have to pay to read more. Unfortunately, I don’t pay and go a site that doesn’t charge.

  • My primary source

I wasn’t sure I wanted to pay for another news source on top of NYT, WP, The Economist, The Atlantic and The New Yorker but in these crazy times I often find the FT publishes stories first and I find the analysis excellent . In particular I look for pieces by Gideon Rachman (excellent podcast too), Ed Luce and John Burn Murdoch . It was Murdoch data analysis on the Covid pandemic that first got me looking at the FT as a primary source on issues beyond economics and business . Some suggestions to the FT though: 1) sort out the marketing and content of your premium offering , I might try it but I’m not convinced at the moment. 2) use real voices for some articles , much much better than AI generated audio . 3) make it easier to search for articles and to look back at articles read history
  • Excellent article articles

  • Collects too much personal data

This site / app collects far too much personal data for a news outlet. I don’t care what you think your argument is, you do not need my phone number to subscribe to something. It is not a secure or meaningful method of authentication or verification at all. The reporting is fantastic and I would have subscribed. It’s a shame the execs don’t feel they’re making enough money from their already high-cost subscription and require collecting users’ data to sell off.
