  • Endless loop is wonky

You can hear where the sound loops in the tv white noise and it’s quite aggravating. Not what you’d expect from a $90 sound machine. update: still has the weird noise at the loop 3 years later
  • App is very very busy…

After doing some research I was convinced that the Hatch Rest 2nd Gen, came with pink noise. I wanted to set up brown noise to play first then pink noise. Even the Hatch app AI states that pink noise is available. I find that the app is very busy, not very intuitive, and I can’t imagine a new parent trying to set it up. Also, if you click on a link provided by the AI assistant, the link only works if you long press it, to open it. Finally, when you open the link and navigate back to the app, you have to return to the Home Screen and select Contact Us again.
  • I wake up relaxed

I may not always be ready to wake up but the soft wake up from the light allows me to adjust in a relaxed state. I always wake up before the music. It’s incredible how much this works! Ps I don’t have a subscription.
  • $150 a year for a cheap light/speaker

My wife was excited to get this product as it was highly rated and recommended by so many people and family. We naturally put it on our registry and a wonderfully kind family member bought it for $100. We set it up only to find almost all of the features are locked behind an additional $50/yr paywall… for what? It’s a basic night light and speaker. We pay $200/yr for Google home premium which does infinitely more and controls over 50+ of our smart devices at home. Hatch Rest is a $20 product at best - not $150. Bought a stellar Govee night light with more features and no subscription.
  • Frequently doesn’t work

The app doesn’t open frequently, have to force close it and reopen to get it to open. Then even if it does open, half the time it doesn’t work. I have to select “my rest” often even though I only have the one. It constantly tells me the hatch isn’t connected to the internet even though it’s in the same place every day, plugged in all day and is playing something on the schedule but somehow it’s not connected? Then if I try to “update the WiFi”, it sits and sits saying to hold tight only to tell me I have to pair it with the app (which I’ve already done multiple times). If I try to update a schedule item, often it won’t save and just says “oops” - no error code, no reason, just oops. For something that’s supposed to assist/make easier toddler sleep time, it’s an extremely inconvenient, inconsistent product that is also quite expensive for something that frequently doesn’t work Update: they updated the app, the above issues seem to be better but the new app is terrible. It’s so anti user friendly it’s insane. It doesn’t LOOK appealing and it doesn’t work in an appealing manner either. Trying to edit things takes more steps than necessary now - you used to just tap the step you wanted to edit and could change it all on one screen, now you have to update each part of the step (time you want it to start, length of step etc) one screen at a time. And to edit your steps, you have 3 tiny dots to tap so you can tap “edit”. Sooo may times I have changed what’s playing on the hatch just trying to edit which is risky when you’re trying to sleep train a toddler to stay in bed until their light is a certain color and now you’ve accidentally changed it to that color. This product is supposed to be helping with sleep training, not declaring a war on it
  • New Hatch Product

The people at Hatch made the new sound machine/ app way too complicated. It should be easy to just turn the light on or the sound. Did you not test the app out before you released it?
  • Frustrating to navigate

Love the alarm itself, but using the app is extremely frustrating. You should be able to just click on an alarm sound to see what it sounds like, instead you have to go through 3 different buttons just to hear it. In my opinion, it should default to playing on your phone and you can test it on the hatch if you’d like. Gets me riled up every night before bed lol. The app is just a mess, I was so excited to set up my routines when I first got the hatch, but I was disappointed once I set it up. I’m still confused. The app should do a better job at waking you through how to set up routines. Also there should be more actual alarm noises for heavy sleepers. Btw I’m 21 and capable of navigating technology, so this is not a grandma Karen, I just my blood pressure rise every time I have to open that glitchy annoying slow app. Thank you :)

The app is always crashing, doing weird things, won’t connect when you need it to and isn’t user friendly.

The lack of new hatch content is wild. Where are the new stories for bigger kids? It’s been such a long time since anything like that has been released. So close to calling it done with our hatches.
