App is SOO slow to respond when I try to choose different options. Also not very user-friendly/navigable.

The app is the hatch restore’s downfall. In a nutshell, please allow people (especially subscribers) to use the hatch app without needing to connect to the device! I love my clock but despite advertising a “phone free” experience, I have spent way too much time wrestling with this app. First off, college students beware because there is no shot at connecting your hatch on campus/apartment wifi. There is a work around where you can set your routines using your phone’s hotspot but certain sounds only play if the hatch is actively connected which is not reliable. Another option is to set it up with your home wifi which I have done. I have strong wifi back home but it still often takes minutes to load anything (saving settings, deleting routines, even browsing the library). Maybe offer a bluetooth option for us sleep deprived students? Another thing: it is very disappointing to be completely locked out of the app when not connected to the hatch. It’s not realistic to purchase a travel router and carry your hatch with you wherever go. It would be nice if you could still open the app and play your routines from your phone when you are away from the device, especially for paying subscribers. Overall, the clock is great when it works but I cannot recommend it to anyone based on this app, please make some changes.
  • Extremely slow

The app is barely functional because of how slow it is. To simply make or delete an alarm it takes 10-30 seconds.
  • Have to pay to get good sounds

I think it’s a little silly that I have to pay 170 dollars for an alarm clock hoping I would be able to actually wake up peacefully in the morning, and be able to unwind at night. There are some good options that would help me but most of them require a hatch plus subscription, which is a ridiculous waste of money. I don’t understand why all sounds are not included when buying the hatch itself.
  • The Worst

This is the worst app I’ve ever used. It doesn’t always save what I saved, but does save what I did not save. It is incredibly slow to download or save. It is very disorganized. The way it is laid out is haphazard.
  • Makes you pay for everything

Hatch is a complete rip off. It makes you pay for everything. No fancy colors or sounds without paying.
  • Overpriced

I had given the hatch restore to my daughter in the hopes of helping her develop a healthy sleep routine and wow this product is so bad. I can’t even connect to Bluetooth within the app. At this point It’s a glorified nightlight. I’m so glad I didn’t pay for this, I had won it in a Christmas raffle last year. Looking at the recent reviews it looks like it’s not just me.
  • Not worth it

When you first open the app it FORCES you to sign up for a subscription to cancel later. Second, without the expensive subscription, you get very few alarms, all of which are gentle ambient sounds. It should not cost more to be a heavy sleeper, plus this thing is very expensive and practically useless to me without the subscription. I am very disappointed. Hatch, please at least let there be more alarms for the people who paid you 170$ rather than pay for that and a subscription for an ALARM CLOCK.
  • Not intuitive at all

The app should be much easier to use. Too many dead ends and much too complex. Can’t make clock dim enough at night (even at 1%). Can’t adjust time to change brightness. Can’t find account info.
