    I hate this app so much. Impossible to navigate. No functional search feature (which it has in common with its big brother). Feeds don’t align with email posts. I could go on. Excellent writers save it and make it a necessity, making the app itself that much more annoying.

    Constantly kicks you out and treats you like a non-subscriber. Enough is enough. Canceled You can’t cancel via Apple like every other script. They want to charge you without knowing. Cost me $280.

    Ever wonder what sports news would be like if written by a Brooklynite hipster who has decided to forego journalistic ethics and just hip-shoot hot garbage takes? Then you are downloading the right (or should I say left?) app. If you haven’t grown tired of hearing how something an athlete said is “problematic” or how a coach’s mildly jerkish behavior is “harmful” to 20+ year old “children” then by all means, subscribe and enjoy! You get a free Mamdani coffee mug when you choose the annual subscription.

  • Is this app for news or olds?

    On the app what I usually get on the opening page is 6-7 day old "news" nothing to do with the latest stuff going on. If you do not have any articles about what is going on in the respective sports league currently, do not place any stale article to the feed. Should I teach you how to do your job? Unbelievable stuff.

    I cannot use the discuss feature on EPL matches and haven't been able to for weeks. One of the few reasons I use this app over espn is the in game banter. That's gone and if not fixed im gone too. Not worth the subscription cost if the app doesn't work.

    Subscription offer for 1.99 mo for a year but when you click to accept they charge you 7.99 mo. My husband started a new account and accepted the one week free offer only to have our card be charged immediately for a full annual subscription! No wonder newspaper circulation is down when companies like the NEW YORK TIMES extort money from subscribers and do not honor special offers. Shame on you.

    The reason to pay for this sub is to engage with the content and community. Commenting functionality is working intermittently. No pathway to engage with technical support. With a poor Discuss feature, I have to be out.

  • Doesn't download saved articles

    I really like the Athletic, and the app is good. What ruins it's utility for me is that it doesn't download bookmarked articles for reading later. I'll download a bunch of articles for a flight, but when I go to read them after takeoff, the text won't be available. I've even tried scrolling through each whole article prior to takeoff to ensure they loaded initially and then not closed out of the app, but they still aren't saved as downloaded in the Saved Stories section beyond the title. Fixing this would make the app and subscription much more valuable to me.
