The pay is not enough when factoring time and gas

This app is a joke if you’re trying to make a living. Base pay is insultingly low—$2 to $3 per delivery—and if customers don’t tip (which happens a lot), you’re basically working for free. The new Uber Pro program is a scam. It promises perks but just locks you into more low-paying orders and hides your money behind their shady Pro debit card system. Points expire for no reason, and you’re penalized for rejecting trash orders. To make it worse, customers often don’t tip, rate unfairly, or treat you like you’re invisible. And if you get one bad complaint, Uber can deactivate you without hearing your side. Uber Eats is exploiting drivers. This app isn’t a side hustle—it’s highway robbery. Avoid unless you enjoy being overworked and underpaid.

Listen up black men this company does not want us on there platform.They have openly allowed discrimination against black men .My account was deactivated for no reason at all .I reach out they say I have multiple accounts when I have never had and account with them at all .I challenged them in that scenario and then they make up a new reason they said my documents are altered.All my documents were up to date .Then I appealed there decision they say o it will be 3-5 days before we respond ,I get a email 5 minutes later saying yeah our decision is final .Im like wow just deactivate me for no reason .I am seeking a lawsuit as we speak and they have already been sued for these exact reason while ill be filing a lawsuit against them.Stay away men of color don’t spend money with them don’t work for them just stay away from Uber they want to associate every single black person with fraudulent behavior.

i’m a uber driver in new york city it’s been more than 3yrs, about this apps i think everything is working fine but only things i don’t like sometimes i got trips request which is too far away from my location, hopefully uber technology will taking care of this issue, thank you

If you are looking to earn extra income from your own vehicle and live in an area with many individuals, this is great. Too many negatives, such as lacking true verification of individual entering the vehicle. This person could be anyone other than the actual “requester”. Having user input fake “names” even if the have a user verification check mark when I have asked before and people have put their “nicknames” and not an actual true name. Not a safe service to use. Age verification for users less than age? You have to ask for the riders identification if they are unattended minors.. talk about lack of authentication. Lots of automated responses with the uber support team that makes you feel like it’s either AI responses or a really poorly trained team of support that copy and pastes responses and have no actual help provided. You want to earn better rewards, then you better run your vehicle into the ground because the $2500 uber insurance deductible won’t cover most minor non fault damages. Have clients whom disrespect you or your vehicle? You have to go through hoops to hope that the user is not allowed back on the “app”. If you get rated poor(even if your service was 100% the best) your rating gets so low that you might have to pay to take “training” 3rd party courses to allow you to take passengers. Oh and you better buy a dash cam for your own personal protection so when you have the passengers disrespecting you have proof, then you can have that as back up. Uber does not care about the individual, otherwise they would pay more, have better “rewards”, and have vehicle insurance that covers damages. Why do I have to pay for additional insurance and then have uber have insurance that gets take out of each fare? Insurance company’s making double the money! You want to earn more? We will make you get other people’s food orders! Then those people can place a location and if you drop the items off at the exact place, the user who requested the food drop at that location can still say they didn’t get the food delivered and then hey they get free food and looks bad on you! Also, they make you have to meet certain requirements through star rating, acceptance rating and other “performance” based methods. Not to mention that your already completed trips don’t get rated until the user inputs a rating. You can complete 1000 rides and maybe get 200-300 trips actually rated. There is no 5-star default setting unless they place a rating otherwise! My account example: 640 completed trips with 281 of this trips rated. If the rest were defaulted to 5* after a certain time frame, I wouldn’t have to worry about a random bad review. Yet when less than 50% of the ratings aren’t placed and someone gives you 1* that bad review plummets your “star rating” so you have that carrot dangling in front of you because you have to have a 4.85 star rating for most of their “perks” like a 5% added advantage mode where they state you make 20% more an hour from a 5% fare increase, and I am not a math teacher, 5% doesn’t not equal an output of 20% increased earnings. People also don’t input proper location pick-ups and expect them to find where you are at if their location services are not enabled! There have been persons whom have a location placed on the map, then call you from a completely different location and ask where you are at! If there is a marker placed there and you don’t have a location on the uber map, why would anyone think to not choose to stop where that is at! Don’t worry though, Uber is better than a taxi because through their training video, to help get a better chance at getting a 5 star rating, they encourage you to give out bottled water or other amenities that come out of your own pocket, and no amount will ever help with tax deductions because you will drive so many miles trying to earn that taking anything other than the standard deduction for mileage would not be smart unless you spend thousands of dollars a month on other items for “business purposes”. Have issues and complaints that you want helped with? Through the not so friendly user interface of the application you can’t find the ways to complain about the lack of accountability uber has. I encourage those whom need a steady pay to be prepared to have the worst of the worst. There have been some good, yet that has never been offset from the amount of bad. (Got rated a 1 star from persons whom were chatting with each other the whole time ride about absolutely nothing important other than just having words being spoke. Nothing was directed towards me, but I didn’t say anything other than the standard greeting and departure with kindness. You can’t even try to argue about ratings if they don’t reflect what actually happened, there is no system to fight against improper ratings other than if the user “rates” too low too many times.) You want to have support give different rating to a user because it’s forced to make a choice of rating and then get back on the road? Not possible. A technology application must require input but cannot edit the input is unfathomable! This kind of shoddy business practice is why this is a terrible business practice! There always seem to have the same statements being made by the passengers such as never having to use a pin with verification, never have to wear seat belts or other statements that makes it seem like there is a rotation of personnel almost being told what they need to say! The sayings became so noticed that I wrote them down to determine how many times these individuals always cycle through the same material. There also happens to have what looks like police always ending up being around at some point nearing the drop off of an individual! 75% of the trips seem to have a police somewhere in the area where I travel to.
