This is indeed a faithful reproduction of the old Microsoft solitaire games that used to come free with Windows. But now it’s either $10 a year to subscribe or ads - long 30 to 60 second ads that have to be cleared 2 or 3 times before you get to the game. Also, only the most basic level can be played without Wi-Fi. If you’re planning on taking this on a trip to kill time, you’re going to need high speed internet access. The ad I dislike the most is the “update the application” ad that looks like an app update, but it’s really an attempt to get the user to install… something. It looks exactly like the things your antivirus tells you not to do. Update: right after I wrote this review, the game launched an ad that transitioned to the App Store installation page. Every time I checked “done” it relaunched the installation page and refused to let me go on to the solitaire game. It’s now uninstalled.

Put the daily events back in the correct order
  • Too many ads & it doesn’t play solitaire

Puts up ads easily, but they eat bandwidth, then you get circling cards because it can’t actually load a game… their priority is making money not actually having a game that works

The perfect game to zone out to. But I keep having some issues connecting to the internet that pops up in the game though my internet is fine. But my biggest gripe, and why I removed a star, are the bots. Please weed out the bots!! In the events it is not mathematically possible to finish all the games like the top 10 spots show. 20 games in under minute? Give me a break. You should have easy checks to weed these things out. Give us humans a chance. Also what is the point of the bots?!! Are they building up recognition to sell to someone else? This is solitaire and that’s weird.
  • Intermittent Award Problem

Solitaire game acknowledges win but fails to award points or award XP bonus points. This is a serious bug. Now let’s see if any of the developers respond.

  • Hackers are ruining real competition.

“Today’s Event”, with 20 games from Easy to Expert, had the top 8 finishing in 6 minutes or less. Sorry, but I don’t believe it’s humanly possible to figure out the games or move your finger that fast. The games are good, but either Microsoft doesn’t care about the unfairness of hackers ruining the scoring, or the hackers are better than the Microsoft programmers, and can’t be removed.
