Description

◆ 80 MILLION USERS ◆ Yuka is a free mobile app that allows you to scan the barcodes of food and personal care products and instantly see their impact on your health. A rating and detailed information help you understand the analysis of each product. When a product has a negative impact on your health, Yuka also recommends similar but healthier alternative products. ◆ A 100% INDEPENDENT PROJECT ◆ Yuka is a 100% independent project : product reviews and recommendations of healthier alternatives are done in an objective way. No brand or manufacturer can influence them in one way or another. Furthermore, there is no in-app advertising. You can access detailed information on our business model on our website (www.yuka.io). ◆ 6 MILLION REFERENCED PRODUCTS ◆ Yuka established a database that contains 4 million food products and 2 million cosmetic products. Each food product is evaluated according to 3 objective criteria: nutritional quality, presence of additives and organic aspect of the product. The method to analyse cosmetic products is based on the analysis of all the ingredients of the product. Each ingredient is assigned a risk level according to the latest scientific data. --- Terms of use: https://yuka-app.helpdocs.io/l/en/article/2a12869y56

I have degrees in Biochemistry and molecular biology so my wife and I use the Yuka app often at grocery stores where we make important decisions about our food and cosmetic purchases. The app provides critical information to allow us to do this based on what’s important to us. Things like additives and nutritional value are very important. The “additional” information regarding additives and references to technical studies is especially useful. We Highly recommended this app!

This app genuinely changed the way I eat, think while shopping, and clean my body. It scans nearly all foods and hygienic products to give you a FREE review / rating, and an INFORMATIVE ingredients list. Again, for free. You can also - if you wish- pay as little as 10$ per YEAR for a premium subscription which allows offline usage (and your payment goes to a good cause). I could go on and on about how amazing this app is. I neverrrrr leave reviews unless I’m extremely displeased, but this app made me do just the opposite. You literally cannot be disappointed with this app, no way.

With protein being added to so many products, it would help if Yuka rated high protein products.

I don’t think I buy anything without scanning it through this app first. This has been such a blessing for anyone trying to read themselves of disgusting additives.
  • App can’t read

Was trying to input some info for a product. The scanner will not read anything and says the photo is invalid. I went out my way to get another device. Use that device to take some photos and edit it. Turned up the contrast and bigger sizing. But the app is really struggling with reading 10 words of ingredients in bold.

Love this, would be great if it also listed company ownerships so we could track PE company’s to avoid all together and just look for safe brands quickly.

Can’t rotate the camera. So I have to turn around the phone to scan the product. I there is a way to rotate the camera, it’s not at least visible or easy to use for me.
