ABOUT PARALLELS DESKTOP Parallels Desktop is a powerful virtual desktop Mac application that enables users to run Windows, Linux, and macOS operating systems and applications on their Mac with Intel or Apple silicon chips. Parallels Desktop makes this possible through desktop virtualization, utilizing software technology to create a virtual machine. This VM functions as a virtual PC within your Mac, allowing you to install and operate operating systems just as they would on a physical computer. If you enjoy using Parallels Desktop or have an idea you'd like to share with us, please leave a review. DISCLAIMER It is not recommended that existing Parallels Desktop on the Standard or Pro version users move to Parallels Desktop App Store Edition. Learn more: https://kb.parallels.com/en/123796.

  • This is stupid

I used to LIKE Parallels, and even put up with the exceptionally expensive YEARLY renewal fee, because I liked it. Now I have a second Mac, so I went to the App Store to download Parallels, and it seems to be indicating that I now have to pay DOUBLE to keep using Parallels… I don’t care if it’s 10x better… There are free alternatives, and they are now the better choice.
  • Very Slow Internet

If you download your programs in the MAC, then transfer and install using the VM the programs run fine as long as they dont need much data. I have 2.5GBS internet and 2.3GBS on the MAC - but getting only 3MB in Parallels. using the Shared or Bridged makes no difference. Parallels support has been non-responsive. Without internet connectivity it is basically useless. Reddit, Forums and ChatGPT used with exhuastion.

If you have an accidental subscription renewal that you want to cancel the day of the renewal itself, good luck with these suckers.

I don’t like that the default user is unchangeable. There is no customization available

I tried this out and after uninstalling my right-click menu is still trying to open apps in Parallels that no longer exist
  • Waste of money

I bought the license for v.14, when when new MacOS came out, it no longer supported the new MacOs and asked to buy v.16. Within 6 months, my money was wasted.

  • Windows invasion

While I have benefitted from using parallels to run CAD in a windows environment, I do not appreciate the level of intrusion that parallels gives to windows to invade my OSX (superior) desktop environment. I have hated windows for most of my life, they are incredibly guilty for the horror they’ve caused since the earliest versions of Windows. APPLE you need to do something about this…asap.
