Description

BimmerLink is the direct link to your BMW or MINI. Using one of the supported OBD adapters, you can read trouble codes or display sensor values in realtime, check the current state of the DPF in your car or register a new battery after replacement. BimmerLink even allows you to remotely control the exhaust flap or mute the Active Sound Design in your car. In contrast to generic OBD apps that read emission related errors only, BimmerLink allows you to read and clear trouble codes from ALL control units in your car. DISPLAY REALTIME SENSOR VALUES BimmerLink provides a big selection of values like oil temperature or boost pressure. Keep an eye on all the important parameters of your car with a personalized dashboard. EXHAUST FLAP REMOTE CONTROL* Take control over the exhaust flap in your car and decide yourself, whether it should be closed or open. ACTIVE SOUND DESIGN** If you do not like the artificial engine sound generated in your car, just mute the Active Sound Design with BimmerLink. SOUND TUNING*** The “Sound Tuning” option allows you to disable the “exhaust burble“ in cars equipped with the S55 engine (M2 Competition, M3, M4). DPF REGENERATION**** BimmerLink allows you to check the current state of the diesel particulate filter in your car. Find out when the last regeneration took place or how much ash has accumulated in the filter and start a regeneration with the touch of a button. CARPLAY ADD-ON***** Enhance your driving experience with the CarPlay add-on for BimmerLink. Access your sensor values on your car's display for improved vehicle monitoring, all integrated seamlessly with CarPlay for ease of use. • Easy to reset fault lights on dash

I had the dreaded check engine light come on the other day. I had a feeling that it was due to the gas cap not being tighten properly however even after tightening it never went off. Used BimmerLink to read the error code and it was the gas cap issue as I thought. Reset with the app and like magic it’s gone. Being a California resident, I have to get a smog check this month to renew my tags and had this light been on, the testing station would not have tested and I would have had to take it into a garage for diagnostics. Save a ton of money doing it myself and it was super intuitive. Thanks BimmerLink for a great product!
  • Failed to clear error codes

It read error codes from 2007 X5. Claimed to successfully clear them. It did not. Error codes were never cleared even after multiple clearings. It’s worked for another F30 in the past.

The ap is great I had android and just got the iPhone so I had to repurchase. Didn’t see an option to transfer liscence or if that’s an option? But overall great and I can scan for my own codes. Very user friendly. I have an f30 “14 and it works great! Thanks team!

I used this to register a new battery in my 2017 Mini Clubman. It worked flawlessly! The dealer wanted around $400 to replace and register the battery. If I bought a battery elsewhere and replaced it myself, they would charge $100 to register it. I bought the battery at Costco for $170 (same specs) and registered it myself. It worked great with a VEEPEAK BLE+ Bluetooth 4.0 OBD II scan tool that I already had.

Just traded in our BMW, so after 3 years of using this app, thought I should write a review. Our little i3 REX made for a great shuttle for the kids, but the range extender engine had a timing issue that would have cost more than the car was worth to repair. As a result, the REX often wouldn't start when needed. If you could get it to start, it worked great and did its job, but with the intermittent issue, often this meant pulling over, doing a full key cycle and trying again — multiple times. Although it’s probably not advisable, BimmerLink allowed us to clear th code while on the move, each time giving the REX a “clean start”. The small amount we paid for this app, and with huge thanks for the Family Sharing feature, as my kids learned to drive, we felt comfortable knowing they could “jump start” the range extender if they got into trouble. We won’t buy another BMW again, probably for a long time, but we would buy an app from this developer. For three years it was a solid — and useful — app to have on our phones, staying that way through many updates. Along with its companion BimmerCode, I wouldn’t own a BMW without them!
  • CarPlay add-on is nearly worthless.

App itself is great and easy to use. The $10 CarPlay add-on, however, is next to worthless. It will list sensor values on the CarPlay screen, but you can’t view the gauge dashboard until updates are allowed by Apple apparently. I’d assume most people who want CarPlay functionality want the gauges displayed like they are in the app.
  • Electronic Parking Brake Service Mode is not working

It is decent app for modern BMW but it does everything it states except EPB service mode. Failure message pops up “The Service Mode can’t be activated” diagnostic mode activated, foot on brake, parking brake disengaged. All conditions have met. There are no manual, instructions and troubleshoot. I emailed support but they gave all informations I already know. I pad almost $43 including tax. I’m not sure if it is worth it. Maybe it is better to invest money on good obd2 scanners.
