A couple of things that would make this app amazing. 1. Easier to search for friends. Not very user friendly for finding friends, or to search for them. 2. If TV series were added. I stream a lot of series and always looking for more, would love this to be an option in the future.

Really enjoyable app until they started allowing AI slop pop up ads to interrupt what you’re doing every few seconds. Jumping ship now before this gets any worse.

Was perfect but it’s cluttered w so many intrusive ai powered ads, rlly disappointing the amount of ai I’ve been seeing on this app when it’s supposed to be promoting human made talent
  • Stop Full Screen Adds

Every 10 seconds an add pops up. It is getting ridiculous. Go back to the add being in the corner of the screen. This app is unusable without going pro. I’m not playing more money for a virtual journal.

i usually don’t ever rate apps, i find it a waste of time. however, letterboxd has been my favorite app since the day i downloaded it. it has grown my appreciation towards film and i’ve developed a deep love towards the art. this was something we needed as a society. film lovers brought together in the best, most wholesome way possible.
  • Please let me hide the video store service!

I like and use Letterboxd for film tracking and discovery, but I have zero interest in having your new Video Store service shoved in my face taking away from the functionality of the app and no way to turn it off. If this continues, I’ll be canceling after many years of having a subscription.
  • Ad fatigue

As with any app these days, Letterboxd is becoming increasingly overrun by ads. It started with ads placed on screen while you scroll that can easily be ignored—like many free apps need to run. Recently, however, I have been receiving multiple full page pop-up ads that must each be closed before returning to using the app. This app was fun, but imo has past its peak and is now falling into the familiar downward spiral of any business who prioritizes profit maxing over the experience of its users. You are better off sending your quippy reviews directly to your movie-loving friends.
