Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period Account will be charged for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current period, and identify the cost of the renewal Consult our Privacy Policy at https://www.roomster.com/privacy And our Terms of Use at https://www.roomster.com/terms We are always working hard on improvements to make finding your next home even easier. • I keep getting the same messages from people

The app also keeps on deleting numbers that are numerical. I have to type out numbers or they get deleted for some reason.
  • My address doesn’t exist?

Forces you to create an ad before doing anything, but my address doesn’t exist in their system, and it won’t let me just type it in, so I guess I can’t use this app.
  • Questionable Messaging Practices

Messaging is blocked until you make a payment. Whenever someone creates an account in your area it usually creates a message to everyone. So it’s a bit deceptive. I think posting on a facebook, although riskier, is free and there are more potential candidates.
  • Scammy, Ineffective Money Grab.

Overall: Terrible at finding rooms to rent or renters for your room. Seems scammy & risky. High prices and questionable—possibly illegal—tactics intended to trick you into paying high fees for basic access to your “free” account. Cost: WATCH OUT FOR *AUTO RENEWAL* OF FEES. The lowest price starts at $11.99+ tax for SEVEN DAY ACCESS to your messages via your *iTUNES ACCOUNT.* No other payment option available. You will be AUTOMATICALLY CHARGED for renewal of another seven days access *at least 24 hours BEFORE* your 7th day. *YOU MUST CANCEL YOUR SUBSCRIPTION THROUGH iTUNES, NOT THE APP.* Service: 9 out of 10 listings are scammy and have little or no additional info about the listing or person who posted it. NO pics of room or house, no info on neighborhood, room size, roommates, utilities & other extra costs. Just a quick summary blurb that THE APP CREATES from info grabbed about the user. Often inaccurate. You can’t put your email address in your ad for people to contact you. Your ONLY option is to pay to access your messages in the app. I wasn’t planning on paying for the “subscription” until I’d had to evaluate the app/service. Then I got an email saying I had a new message! Like an idiot I immediately clicked. Could not view my “new message” without paying. I gave in and paid for 7 days access for $11.99+. Which took all of 30 seconds. I then immediately clicked on my new messages only to see “message was deleted.” I’m now *convinced* this is a SCAM tactic intended to get people to pay for the expensive access to their messages. I don’t see any advantage, or any less risk, in using this app over Craigslist or FB Marketplace— both of which have plenty of risks and scams. But at least you’re not paying high fees for the same experience.
  • Zero stars if I could

Hands down the most cancerous roomate finding site available. Messages are hidden behind a paywall and it’s $15 for a week. Use Craig’slist or appts.com or literally any other website, they won’t spam you with half as many notifications and will not charge you.
  • Requires large payment just to talk between seller and buyers

Why pay just to contact people when everywhere else can do it for free
  • Horrible app

This is a scam. You have to pay 12$ a MONTH to just talk to people. Seeing the reviews of this app and then them replying saying that it's not a "lot" of money is ridiculous and disrespectful. Do better.
  • Paywalls :(

You have to pay $12 to see your messages…
  • You have to pay to even use it

You literally can’t message anyone or see who messages you unless you pay don’t waste your time.

Haven’t heard from one potential roommate yet. And it’s not very clear when looking for a roommate in my area, it keeps giving me people renting in different areas
