  • 40% of the time, it works every time

40% is actually generous. Sometimes it informs me of an incident nearby that I wouldn’t otherwise know about, but most of the time I see lights and hear sirens and it has no info. Worse, it notifies me of things happening on the other side of the country. I don’t care. That’s not why I have this app. Telling me about something happening in New Jersey doesn’t help protect me 2000 miles away.
  • Locked paywall

This app became a dumpster fire once they kept adding more & more paywalls just to unlock simple information. Rather just read the news online that’s FREE. Greedy developers.
  • Good while it worked

Purchased a year subscription. Loved it at first. After about two weeks it stopped tracking all incidents in the county I live in. Emailed three times with no response. So in addition to a nonworking app they also have the worst customer service around. Am cancelling
  • Fear tactics and upselling

The app creators want you to be in constant fear. And pay them, of course. Plus, you used to not need an account to see basics on reports around you, now you need an account so they can advertise to you more heavily. This app is bad for the world.
  • Complicated

Es complicated to use. You guys switched back from sexual offenders back to alerts, and it really doesn’t show that for on the sexual predators teenage life
  • why pay for safety?

I think that they should just have ads instead of having the subscription and the subscription be to remove ads. people shouldn’t have to pay for safety specially when the people who normally live in unsafe areas are also the less fortunate who can’t spare a single dime
  • Stop the notifications!!

The notifications are completely random. Most make no sense, or they happened three + hours ago. I had to uninstall because they were sending out notifications 6 at a time. Ugh!!
  • No News When You Need It

You’d better believe it has news when it doesn’t concern you, including news from across the country, but if you hear sirens in your area for two straight hours, expect no updates. It has no genuine local coverage except for the few nosy folks who upload information themselves (which is incredibly rare). If you hear sirens in your area, you’d better believe Citizen is NOT going to tell you what’s going on!!! Genuinely sick of this app data mining my location for no gain beyond knowing that someone was assaulted 10 miles away.
  • pay to use

You will turn off notifications after the 3 or 4 th alert with a stupid update that tells you nothing at 3 am
