  • Citizens keeping people unaware of protest?

This is the 2nd day in a row that I got alerted about a protest wayyy after it happened. I’m stating to feel like citizens app is intentionally doing this to keep as many people away from the protest as possible

Updated in January and I can’t do half of what I used to do
  • No data anymore

We live in a city with a decent amount of crime. This app used to be good - at least 75% of incidents showed on Citizen, but which incidents showed for me versus someone else was always an anomaly. I’d get a notification but my neighbor wouldn’t have anything on their app and vice versa. Used it reliably for about 2 years. Then in December 2025, poof… crime data just doesn’t exist in our area anymore. I occasionally get alerts for other areas, but there is quite literally ZERO crime data for my section of the city. It’s like our city’s 911 stopped reporting just our district’s data? So I removed the app, downloaded it again, set up a new account just in case and saw no difference. Friends in the area report the same thing - reports/data just vanished for our area.
  • It’s glitching for me.

    By that g1rll!
the app glitches a lot for me, everytime I try to open it it kicks me out the app right away except it started happening after I tried to make an account for the app.
  • Basic features locked behind subscriptions

The Citizen team pushes too many national events that I don’t care to see, and changing the alert for that requires a sub. Uninstalling because I’m tired of all the negativity And the comments are mostly far right slop.

  • Unreliable Data

    1) They’ve changed the way badges gather number of incidents so now, until I open the app it always shows “50” — open the app, it clears. A few minutes later, it’s back to 50. (Never more or less than 50.) 2) When you go to the Maps, now it’s usually 1 or 2 incidents which seem to clear within a few (or a couple) of hours. Sooooo if you’re not checkout every hour or so, you’ll never see incidents.

This app censors anything negative about the current administration and only leaves comments that fit the narrative they want. Also, there’s barely anything worth staying here for. You’d be better informed with a quick Google search. All the details are hidden behind a paywall.
