  • Motion zones are terrible

    App is ok but the blocking of the motion zones is horrible. Doesn’t work. And when you use them the grey out the video as privacy zones. That is no good when trying to keep the camera recording on a busy road. Would recommend checking out a better solution if your road is busy because the motion blocking doesn’t work.

    Graying out the areas where you do not want your camera to sense motion is useless, doesn’t work. Tried over and over with my 5 various cameras and it simply does not work. Blink also has “smart detection” in the motion settings which works mostly well when you just tick off the box for ‘person’. But if you tick off ‘person’ and ‘motion’ (and NOT vehicles) you will get animals and people (great) but you will also get vehicles despite also graying out the zones near roads (not great). So “smart detection” isn’t so smart! I really like the cameras otherwise, but these two issues annoy me to no end bcoz I get unwanted recorded videos and am changing my camera batteries way too often ( once a month). Will be looking for a better system

    I called because I needed help connecting my camera, and the representative I spoke with was extremely rude. I’ve had the mini camera for over four years—actually, I own three—so I’m familiar with the setup process. However, this time the light stayed red, which has never happened before, so I reached out for assistance. During the call, the representative walked me through steps I had already tried several times. They repeatedly insisted I was doing it incorrectly, even though I’ve done this process many times in the past. I clearly know how to unplug the camera, plug it back in, and hold the reset button with a paper clip, yet they continued to tell me I was doing it wrong. I’m not sure if the representative was a man or a woman, but their tone was unprofessional and dismissive throughout the call. The experience was completely unacceptable. I was told to “throw it away.”

    Don’t set the schedule. I’ve done it twice now & gotten the same results! When you go back in to delete the schedule it doesn’t take out all the information. Schedule will still disarm at scheduled time but will not rearm afterwards. So you may go all night disarmed. Plus you have to keep calling blink to get the right person to remove the schedule in the system, apparently many can’t understand what you’re talking about or doesn’t know how to remove the scheduling that they can still see on their end.

    I pay for service monthly on this app and randomly it will jut not work. It says page not found when using the app. I have a new puppy at home and out of nowhere when I am banking on his app most, it can’t even allow me to login. And the online chat is not AI or a real person so it was not able to help me without just giving me generic answers.

    Makes us feel safer at home and away. Easy setup and works great. Only complaint I have is I wish the plugin cable for the module was a longer cable. It’s just micro usb so you can just get your own but I do wish the cable came from them was like 7 feet so you can tuck the module easier somewhere. Or if the thing had built in plug so you could just stab it into the outlet and call it good. But it’s definitely works great would recommend 10/10
