  • Astronomically expensive & very glitchy—also CHARGES YOU TWICE & OWNED BY FASCISTS

    First, I’ve left several reviews for this game that keep disappearing… 🙄 It used to be great, but it is RIDICULOUSLY expensive now that they’ve added more features, like even worse than it used to be. You could buy a lot of real furniture for what you have to pay here to be able to actually enjoy the game—like you can’t even get through the daily challenge anymore without spending ~ $10+, and more money is deducted from your account than what you agree to purchase (Apple Store refuses to reimburse). They BOMBARD you with marketing messages, and you can’t delete them without opening them first. Once in less than 24 hours, I counted 16 new messages—nearly all trying to sell me something. It’s annoying, a waste of time, and it feels like a job where you’re constantly checking email; this takes a lot of enjoyment out of the game—especially when you can’t afford to buy anything. I mean I get it they have to make money—but it’s outright predatory at this point. It’s also incredibly glitchy; I’ve tried to make purchases in the past and kept getting a “technical difficulties” message—then it charged me multiple times. Last time this happened, when it finally worked, the entire game disappeared after I submitted a design—like I had to start all over. I disputed the charges, but just as with the last time, Apple Store refused to give me a refund. Also the filters are not always accurate; e.g., if you’re looking for a certain color, an item of that color won’t show under it, but you can see it if you remove the filters. One time it let me put a dog on a desk (and other random items in random places), but that was actually kind of funny. Speaking of dogs, pets are enormously expensive. Lmao! UPDATE: I just updated this review then went in to try a design, and only a few chairs are available in the chair category; it’s offering me little candles and lamps to put on the floor where the chairs should be. lol Also the ads are incredibly long and rarely award you diamonds, as error messages are common. Also I took advantage of their “cleanup truck” today thinking it would allow me to play for a while, and still haven’t received the rewards for what I “sold.” UPDATE: They used to give you actual rewards for this, but just read that, that has changed. This is so lame I wish I hadn’t done it now: “The Clean Up Truck does not award Cash but it DOES award Design Value to help reach your next Design Home level! The Clean Up Truck’s value is set to the Cash or Diamond value; that becomes the overall Design Value that you earn for those items.” It’s really a shame they got so greedy. They also engage in an awful lot of cultural appropriation. I’m done putting any more money into this game; I can’t afford it anymore anyway—and since they obviously don’t care what we have to say and continue to double charge for purchases without being held accountable, AND THEY ARE NOW OWNED BY FASCISTS, I uninstalled. They’re stealing our money and our data. Stop letting them.

    I play this game for hours and won’t get bored. Have you ever played a game? That is nothing like the ads it has? Well you’re in luck because this game is exactly how it describes it. It has so much fun houses to design no ads and never gets boring. by far the best game ever!

  • TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

    I purchased diamonds in the VIP store and the system changed my account number for some reason and gave my purchase to some other account. I have been in contact with Design Home and they have done nothing. This purchase was for $108.24 so not a small amount. I am disputing this purchase with my Apple Pay account. Be very careful using this app. Their customer service is very slow and unsatisfactory. I was a very good customer but they will lose me over this.

    I’ve been playing for years. I hate that so many nice things cost so many diamonds. I know they’re trying to get you to spend money but good grief. And don’t get me started on Tapjoy where you purchase things to get rewarded with diamonds. They have so many rules in fine print. Just a scam. The worst thing recently is you can’t see anything because they put the icons on top of each other so you can’t see what things look like. Also every time I have my rating up high, one lower rating drops my score significantly and it takes a bunch of high scores to bring it back up even a little.

    This game used to be fun, but the recent changes have ruined it for me. It’s not worth the effort anymore. Also, for years, every time I have spent my money on this game I have duplicate charges.
